Benedict Cup Sunday 17 May

The first Sunday Cup event of the 2026 season, took place in sunshine and a decent breeze. The morning session started at 10:30 with the race officer setting an interesting and challenging course compounded by constant wind shifts. After the opening 2 races the top 2 places were separated by 1 point, but it was now time to retire to the club house for the mouth-watering brunch served up by the dedicated galley team. 

Energy levels replenished it was time to return to the water for the deciding race, which went the way of Pip Hudson who was declared the event winner closely followed by Brian Turner just 2 points adrift. A great day was had by all the competitors and the spectators were treated to a closely fought battles. 

For those taking it seriously there was even a healthy option

But most preferred the traditional and much tastier option
