Halloween Style Sailing

Halloween was the theme for the final Saturday morning coaching session of the year - prizes for the beast costume worn when racing.

A gentle breeze and sunshine greeted the sailors, so getting wet and ruining costumes would be down to carelessness or falling off the jetty. To suit the mood of the day a petal shaped course was set, 4 marks making a square with the bud in the middle, so round a mark then the bud forming the petal shape. With plenty a shouts and insults at fellow sailors, racing was entertaining to say the least, and the eventual winners were the 2 Instructors, even if they rounded a few marks the wrong way. The morning was about fun and that was had by all.
